Investment signals growth at UK pump specialist SLD
Air handling systems do not have to be such a permanent, plant-room based fixture as most people probably believe – they can be rented. They can be hired on either a stand-alone basis, plumbed into the on-site plant, or can come with a hired chiller too.
UK pump hire specialist SLD has announced that, following the acquisition of its parent company Longville Group in 2007 by Carrier Rental Systems, 2008 will see the highest level of investment in new equipment in the company's forty-year plus history.
Managing Director Jim Perry said: "This is a very exciting time. We are clearly set for substantial growth. Market conditions last year, including the unfortunate UK floods, meant that we had a remarkable first year under the new global umbrella of Carrier Rental Systems, and this very substantial first investment should see our high levels of customer service supported by the latest technology in all areas."
The investment has been made in a wide range of equipment: diesel pumps, specialist high head units, electric submersibles, hydraulics, wellpoint dewatering pumps, generators, hose/cable and accessories.
The new pump fleet is being distributed nationally this spring throughout SLD's 32 UK depots.
The new generators are being delivered to its dedicated specialist power divisions located in Scotland and in the South East of England.
